What is multi 21?

Multi 21 was a team order used by Red Bull Racing during the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2013. The order was given by the team management to its two drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, to hold their positions in the race. Vettel, however, ignored the order and overtook Webber to win the race, causing a controversy and a rift between the two drivers and the team.

The "multi" referred to the number of the position in which Vettel and Webber were racing at the time. Vettel was in position two, and Webber was in position one. The "21" referred to a code word used by the team to refer to the situation where the drivers were asked to hold their positions.

The incident was seen as a lack of respect for the team and the team orders. It led to a public apology from Vettel and a series of meetings between the drivers and the team management to resolve the issue. Ultimately, the controversy surrounding Multi 21 led to a breakdown in the relationship between the two drivers, with Webber leaving the team at the end of the 2013 season.
